Hi there!
It’s time for another Sew Up North sponsor update. We’ve had some incredible prizes so far I think (check here for the full list) but we aren’t finished yet!
I do an awful lot of my fabric shopping online, but I love it when I find a good, local bricks and mortar shop where I can go and stroke the fabric. I think a lack of these types of shops in the past has been one of the main things that stopped me being passionate about sewing earlier in life.
So I was thrilled to hear about Fabricate opening in Roberttown, a whole 5 minutes from my mum’s house. Fabricate is a small but perfectly formed shop housing a beautiful collection of fabrics, everything from pretty cottons through organic and Art Gallery jerseys to denims and viscose. There are also lots of tempting haberdashery items such as Merchant and Mills goodies, patterns by the likes of Tilly and the Buttons and Sew Over It and kits by Clothkits. And for good measure, they run a wide range of workshops on site in their bright, lovely studio (there was one running when I called in today and I was distinctly jealous!)
They also stock the fab Oh Sew Quaint pattern weights and Phillipa has very kindly donated a set of the macarons to our raffle prize.
Obviously that will require me not to pinch them before then….. If you want more detail on them, Sally reviewed the similar fondant fancy version earlier this year (and is clearly much better than me at getting stuff to review, lucky lady!)
We’ve also got some postcards with a discount code on for the goody bags, so you could enjoy 15% off in the shop – well worth the trip. And if you’re like Katie and me, you could always pop into Ikea for lunch afterwards!
Gratuitous cute kid shot: making no excuses for that!
Thank you Philippa, you’re awesome!
