Hanging out with the sloths

Today sees the publication of my latest Minerva Crafts Blogger Network make.

This make is a really simple one, but one I can see getting some real wear in my wardrobe. There isn’t a huge amount to say here that isn’t in my Minerva post, but I continue to be amazed by how many of Tilly’s patterns slip quietly into my wardrobe, filling gaps I didn’t know I had. This one is a sloth print Frankie top and, whilst I have made multiple Freyas from the Stretch book, this is only the second version of the Frankie I’ve made.

I think my first version (made at too high a speed when too tired and hence not entirely successful) put me off this top a little. I also find Freya so useful for wearing underneath the dungarees and pinafore dresses I’m finding make a large part of my winter wardrobe.

But perhaps that’s a shame; I really like the laid back vibes of this gently flared baseball style shirt. So maybe I should make a few more, just to make sure? Certainly if the fabric is as nice as this, quality wise, they would be pretty comfy to wear.

What’s your favourite Tilly pattern?

As always, Minerva Crafts provided the fabric for my project in return for my honest review.  All opinions are my own.

Details

Pattern  Frankie, from Tilly’s Stretch book

Fabric Sloth print striped jersey from Minerva Crafts

My Measurements:

Bust 36, Waist 32, Hips 42

Size cut: graded between 4 on the bust, 5 on the waist and hips

Adjustments made None

Future adjustments? None

Make again?  Probably; it’s more casual and suited to purely being worn with jeans than my others, making it less of a workhorse, but that’s OK. Also, have you seen Pink Coat Club’s sushi pyjamas using this as the top?

  1. Love the fabric choice on this one. I have 3 Frankies in my wardrobe as well as they work so well under dungaree dresses and hoodies. I’m yet to make a long sleeved version though! My favourite is the Stella and the Coco dress too. X

    1. Somehow I never end up making t shirts? Clearly I need to remedy that!
I’ve made one Stella and liked it but I’m about to try the Halifax Hoodie as I’ve seen a lot of good reviews of that one and got hold of it on sale.
My all time favourite is the Agnes too although Freya is now running a close second! X

  2. I love this fabric and the top looks great on you. I’m a big fan of the Cleo because I too spend a lot of time in a pinafore. I’ve just bought the Ness skirt pattern because I’m missing a denim skirt in my wardrobe. Never tackled a fly zip before but the instructions seem pretty clear and there is also a video tutorial.
