Hello there!
I’ve something slightly different for you today. I was lucky enough to get to review some mermaid sequin fabric by Minerva Crafts. You might not know what it’s called, but I’m confident you’ve seen it around: it’s made of sequins which are a different colour on each side. These are then attached to the underlying fabric so that you can smooth them down one way or the other.
The effect is mesmerising! Check out my video of it on Instagram:
I had originally thought to make tops for the girls out of this (and I have a little left so I still might) but then I saw adverts all over for sequinned cushions. Debenhams were advertising them as classy interior décor; the horrible adverts on kids TV were advertising them as a means to help kids sit still and concentrate.
So I decided that blue sparkly cushions were exactly what our kitchen needed and cracked on!
I backed them with some fake fur from Stoff & Stil, which makes them doubly tactile! And it’s safe to say they’re a hit with everyone in the house except the cat; she finds the reflected light spots rather agitating!
Head on over to Minerva Crafts now for full instructions on how I made these gorgeous cushions; they were so simple and I absolutely love them!
